Before you update your Dell 10.6 to 10.6.2, you have to do the following:

first you need to download a new SleepEnabler from netkas.
10.6.2 SleepEnabler

1. Use spotlight and search for SleepEnabler.kext
2. Remove SleepEnabler.kext from your computer
3. Repair Permission.
4. Restart computer.
5. Go to Software Update and update to 10.6.2
6. Restart computer again.
7. Use KexUtility and install the new 10.6.2 SleepEnabler.
8. Repair Permission.

Everything should work after just like it used to be. Good luck. Report back if you have any problems or questions. Cool

If you don't have the SleepEnabler to begin with, you can just upgrade to 10.6.2 w/o a problem. Unless your laptop is different spec.

This method for the 10.6.2 upgrade worked for me, but broke my wireless.
I tried to replace some kext from my 10.6.1 backup (where I am logged in now) but nothing works.
Any suggestion?

The other problem I have with Snow (10.6.0 to 10.6.2) in the slow shutoff or reboot.
Its just my 1525, or other people are having the same issue?

Fix it!
I reinstalled IO80211Family.kext from 10.6.1

Now I have to solve the slow shutoff

can't get 10.6.2 update to work.
computer reboots immediately when trying to boot osx after update. tried booting with several different flag combinations with no success. never get a chance to install new sleepenabler.kext.
started over from scratch...installed 10.6, did all post install stuff, then tried installing new sleepenabler immediately before running update so it would already be there on reboot, but same problem. Not sure how to repair permissions either, maybe that is the problem?
perhaps the problem is that I am trying to go from 10.6 to 10.6.2?
How could i get to 10.6.1 first?
